ORLOK is a study of the original Slovakian castle where F.W. Murnau filmed part of the 1922 horror film Nosferatu. Based in Slovakia, Feuerhelm photographed the castle in an expressionist manner, suggesting a continuation of the original film, almost as if the images could be thought of as missing film stills from the original film stock.

The images brood and mysterious characters appear in the thin volume of the images. Are these protagonists or Count Orlok's minions keeping vigil over the cold stone walls of the keep?

The second in a series of Feuerhelm's photobooks examining cinema, ORLOK, is timely as film enthusiasts prepare for director Robert Eggers' adaptation of the story, which will be released in cinemas in December 2024.
